Before his wife was murdered, Mann (Simon Yam) was a model detective, and the idol of young detectives. However, with his wife's death, he was indulged in deep sorrow and became downhearted and dispirited. Not only was his detective image affected, his relationship with his daughter, Yan (Wada Hiromi) also went downhill. The new Superintendent Madame Koo (Fala Chen) assigned him to take charge of a series of kidnapping cases. A few triad society bosses were kidnapped, held at ransom and then murdered. The modus operandi was brutal, professional, violent, and efficient. Mann soon discovered that this gang of kidnappers was all ex-special force members, headed by Sam (Michael Miu), once an elite of the Police Force and Can (Qu Ying), his ex-G4 girlfriend. No wonder they were familiar with the police modus operandi and able to escape from apprehension. Sam also discovered that Mann was after him. A duel unto death between two elites of the police force ensued...
