Failan (Cecilia Cheung), after the death of parents comes to Korea to make a living. She is penniless and stranded in the strange country. An agency arranges her marriage to a Korean man Lee Kang-jae (Choi Min-shik).
Failan has never met her husband before. The memorabel things she owns of him are a name "Kang-jae", a picture and a scarf. Life in a foreign country can be difficult and lonely. The only thing that brings Failan comfort is imagery the perfect image of her "husband" when she is down.
Lee Kang-jae knows nothing about his "wife" till the police tells him her poor story...
