The anime film based on the comic book Appleseed by Masamune Shiro, famed for creating Ghost In The Shell, is a huge hit in Japan. Set against the backdrop of a 22nd century world devastated by World War III, a new utopian world, Olympus, is founded by Biodroids, half human, half machine. Deunan, a fighter in the war, was rescued by citizens of this New World power, one of which is Briareos, her ex-lover. As she settles in this ideal and serene city, she began to notice underlying tension between the humans and Biodroids. Humans in Olympus begin to suspect that Biodroids' plans might threaten the human race.
